Bringing HOPE to the Widowed

Two Small Coins is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to bring Hope and Healing to the widowed.  We help support widows and widowers in all stages of their grief. We provide practical help with day to day needs, spiritual and emotional support through a coaching program, and share hope through special gifts throughout the year.

“Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for widows in their distress.”

- James 1:27

Our Founders

Two Small Coins is a non-profit ministry that was started by two women brought together by widowhood. Both navigating grief while raising young children.

  • Erin is a Speaker and Life Coach. Through her business, Catalyst Coaching, she helps empower people to grieve, grow and develop.

She is President and Co-Founder of Two Small Coins: a non-profit that brings hope, healing and support to the widowed.

Through her work and ministry, Erin provides support and healing to those walking through grief.

She also works with people who are wanting to grow in their faith, who are asking the hard questions in life and who seek to deepen their relationship with God.

After being married for 17 years, Erin was widowed suddenly in March of 2019 when her children were 5 and 10 years old. Erin has and continues to walk the road of grief, trauma and resilience.

She is passionate about helping others learn how to rediscover who they are after tragedy and find the resilience and strength that resides in each of us to carry on and to find our JOY!

Erin and her children are living and thriving in Peachtree City, Georgia.

She enjoys reading, writing, traveling, painting, sewing, long walks and long talks with her friends.

  • My name is Jill, and I am a busy mom of five, a widow, a storyteller, a full-time professional writer, a part-time dream writer, and a dedicated cheerleader for all the people at all the things. I am also the co-founder and Vice President of Two Small Coins. I am an active member of our local Never-Alone Widows community, as well as the Proverbs 31 COMPEL writers’ group. In my free time, I love to read or spend time with friends and loved ones. I have always had a heart to serve others, and as I learn more and more along this widow journey, I want to do everything I can to help others along the way, providing resources to lighten the everyday burdens as much as I can. My favorite thing in the world is to dive into a story- whether it is light and fun or dark and heavy- and watch to see the ways I can make an impact. My deepest desire is to bring hope through my widow story, as well as the ways God showed up in those chapters, on my blog, redballoons.blog. I love to listen to others’ stories as well. I can’t wait to meet you and hear more of yours!

Our Story

two moms, two widows, two friends

Erin and Jill became friends after the sudden and tragic loss of their husbands.

What they soon discovered was how lonely, isolating and hard it was to be thrown into a life of grief while still raising children who were also grieving without resources to support them.

They began this ministry as a way to build community and help other widows and widowers on their journey toward wholeness and healing.

What We Do

Two Small Coins is a non-profit ministry that was started by two women brought together by widowhood.

Both navigating grief while raising young children.

God began to move in their hearts and two small coins was born.

Our main goal is to provide support and encouragement to fellow widows and to deliver a glimmer of hope during the darkest days.

While every day of widowhood brings challenges, there are certain days where grief feels just a little heavier and takes up just a little more space in the heart and mind.

Through our holiday Hope Stockings and other Tokens of Hope, we want the widowed to know that they are not alone and help them feel supported, seen and dare we say...

Our Support

  • Hope stockings and other tokens of hope

We want the widowed to know that they are not alone and help them feel supported, seen and dare we say... hopeful. Hope Stockings is a gift initiative for the newly-widowed to have a gift to open on Christmas day. This project is well underway in preparation for the 2023 holiday season, and we invite you to be a part of it.

  • Supportive and trusted community resources and practical help with day-to-day needs

We practically fulfill the needs of widows and assist in connecting them with trusted vendors and resources within our community. We exist to equip and support them in day-to-day necessities such as home maintenance and repairs, financial resources, and other support.

  • Spiritual and emotional support through a coaching program

We know how lonely, isolating and hard it was to be thrown into a life of grief while still raising children who were also grieving without resources to support them.

We began this ministry as a way to build community and help other widows and widowers on their journey toward wholeness and healing.

Our Mission

Walk alongside the widowed.

Bring hope to the hurting.

Care for the grieving.

Lessen the burdens of the overwhelmed.
